OWNER | PRINCIPAL

For Michelle Peltier, residential architecture is more than a profession; it’s a lifelong craft.

Before founding Delmont Architecture, Michelle worked in Charleston, South Carolina, designing high-end custom residential projects on Kiawah and Folly Beach, as well as sensitive historical renovations and additions. Most recently, she served as project manager and designer on luxury custom mountain-modern homes at Centre Sky Architecture.

Michelle earned both her Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from North Carolina State University. During her studies, she completed her thesis on timeless architecture and spent a semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, traveling extensively throughout Europe while sketching, painting, and studying building and urban design.

Driven by a continuous curiosity of building sciences, construction, interior design, and exterior detailing, Michelle applies her expertise to every project, ensuring homes are both beautifully crafted and highly functional.

Outside the office, Michelle enjoys exploring Montana’s mountains, traveling, and practicing yoga.

approach

At Delmont Architecture, our approach to design is personal. We begin with in-depth conversations to understand the nuances and rhythms of your life; your lifestyle, daily routines, design preferences, and programmatic requirements. From there, we guide you through the design process while exploring possibilities and refining ideas together. Throughout the process, we focus on harmony between space, light, material, and the way you live and the result is a thoughtfully crafted, deeply personal home that feels just right for you.

Process

  • At Delmont, every project starts with a conversation. We are interested in hearing about your project and see if our architectural expertise can help you reach your goals.

  • In this first phase, we take time to listen; learning how you live, what inspires you, and what defines “home” for you. Through intentional conversations, we clarify your goals, aesthetic direction, functional needs, timeline, and budget so every decision that follows is grounded in purpose. We also perform a site analysis to study and its constraints, opportunities, lighting, and view corridors.

  • This is a highly collaborative phase — a creative dialogue where big-picture ideas take shape and we define the architectural character of your home. We help your vision take form through hand-drawn sketches, 3D studies, and conceptual layouts. We explore how your home sits on the land, how spaces flow, and how materials and form can express your lifestyle.

  • With the schematic design approved, we begin to hardline the hand-drawn drawings. Plans become more detailed as we study materials, structure, lighting, and the integration of systems. We coordinate with engineers, builders, and other consultants to ensure every design decision supports both beauty and function. This phase transforms the concept into a complete, buildable design with a clear sense of atmosphere and craft.

  • This is where design meets precision. We produce the detailed drawings and technical specifications that guide the construction process — from framing and finishes to windows, doors, and custom details. These documents ensure your builder has the information needed to bring the design to life accurately, efficiently, and true to intent.

  • As your home comes to life, we remain closely involved as your design advocate. We review shop drawings, finish samples, mock-ups, and construction progress, while collaborating with the builder to ensure the details are executed as envisioned. Our observation helps preserve design integrity, resolve questions quickly, and maintain alignment between the drawings and the built reality, ensuring the finished home reflects the care and craftsmanship invested from the start.
